Mid Atlantic Industrial Equipment Partners with Make-A-Wish®
to Grant Wishes for Local Children

York, PA – May 15, 2017 – Mid Atlantic Industrial Equipment, LTD., a leading provider of forklifts and related material handling products in the Central Pennsylvania region, participated in the 28th annual Make-A-Wish® Mothers’ Day Truck Convoy in Lancaster PA. This year’s event marks the third consecutive year that Mid Atlantic has participated.Make A Wish

Founded in 1980, Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Every year, approximately 27,000 children are diagnosed, making them eligible for a wish experience. On Sunday, May 14th, 595 rigs of all shapes and sizes from across the United States converged in Lancaster, PA to help raise awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish® Philadelphia, Northern Delaware & Susquehanna Valley. In 2016, the Make-A-Wish® Convoy raised a record of $408,000.

In addition to including their rig in the convoy, Mid Atlantic also made a significant financial contribution to the cause. “Three years ago, two of our drivers, Josh Bailey and Harry Dattisman IV, came to me with the request that Mid Atlantic support and participate in the convoy” said Dave Lang, owner and CFO of Mid Atlantic. “The opportunity to help Make-A-Wish® raise funds to grant wishes for children was an easy decision. Our hearts go out to the children and families and we are honored to participate in this special event.”

Make-A-Wish® grants a wish, on average, every 34 minutes to a child, helping them feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. For many, the wish marks a turning point in the fight against their illnesses. Doctors, nurses and other health professionals say, the wish experience works in concert with medicine to make their patients feel better emotionally and even physically.

Ben Lee, Regional Director of Make-A-Wish® Philadelphia, Northern Delaware & Susquehanna Valley Chapter shared, “We’re thankful for Mid Atlantic Industrial Equipment’s continued support of the Mothers’ Day Truck Convoy. They continue to grow their support of our Wish Kids each and every year. We love seeing the familiar red diamond on your trucks on roadways and in the Convoy”
