York Country Material Handling Equipment Company Donates Equipment to Toys for Tots

Toys for Toys is a national program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves whose mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year. These toys are distributed as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in local communities throughout the U.S.

Last year, Toys for Tots of York County distributed 30,000 toys to 70 partner agencies in York County. They were able to donate these toys to over 30,000 children with the help of local community members and organizations.

Ramping up for their 2017 campaign, Toys for Tots of York County, approached Mid Atlantic Industrial Equipment recently because their warehouse space was lacking the proper material handling equipment to move all of the donated toys to families in need. Their volunteers spend up to eight hours per day loading toys in and out of the warehouse, sorting toys by age and gender and prepping for pick-up. Their request was for a pallet jack to help volunteers move these toys throughout the warehouse for sorting and distribution.

Mid Atlantic Industrial Equipment believes strongly in community services and giving back. We were more than honored to provide Toys for Tots with a manual pallet jack to help expedite the sorting and distribution of these toys for families.

“We hope by providing Toys for Tots a manual pallet jack, the volunteers will be able to use less manual labor to move the donated toys through the warehouse this year.  It’s just as important for those volunteers to stay safe while they are giving back to the community themselves and this can be done with the help of a pallet jack”, said Dave Haight, CEO, Mid Atlantic Industrial Equipment.

Toys for Tots of York County collects and provides toys to agencies to help families in the greater York area, Dover, Delta, Wrightsville, Shrewsbury, Spring Grove, Stewartstown, Manchester, Dallastown, Newberrytown, Red Lion, Mount Wolf and Windsor with the support of the First Capitol Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
